When the Unexpected Comes

I feel like your "spur-of-the-moment"
when the unexpected shows.
I walk those lines of in between
your timely worded prose.

I read the rhymes and those that don't
when rhythm holds me there.
The ones that are unscheduled
sure surprise me, when you share.

I am often your spell checker
and with humor rectify,
sending you corrections
even if you wonder why.

I've time too much on hand right now
so this, a poem writes
telling you I like it,
when the unexpected lights

touching me, more than the words
behind them, meanings shown.
Unforeseen yet hoping
are those times of warmth in tone.

I was thinking how nice it is when the unexpected phone call or poem or email shows up. Today was a pleasant day, the sun is shining, it's 80 degrees and I got all my painting done for now *s.
