The day was one so special that the morning seemed to sing The dew of night departing with the birds on playing wing The roses in their beauty gave to bees in gentle kiss A warming sun, some pleasure, which a dreamer for did wish The day was one so special that no other could compare The light unto my heart was warm as love residing there My body ached for nothing but the touch of morning’s hand And all the chorus singing in the light of beauties band The day was one so special that I woke before my time Met day and night exchanging parts to bring this day of mine Then slowly watched unfolding all the scenes which make the morn The awakening of wonderment, the view of splendour born Its warmth consumed my wanting; its beauty took my heart The morning took my cares away as nature played her part I gave myself the pleasure to encounter what was meant I thanked the lord and nature for the morning they had sent |

Hi Rick Hey, I love this. It has an easy flow that reflects the gentle & easy dawn that I can see in my mind's eye - I am on the back verandah & can see the picture you have painted. Ta...love Lynda |

this makes me want to stay awake until morning comes...I'm a night person, it's 230am here, and I will sleep soon....but not if I keep reading this poem... |

I really enjoyed this, I work permanent nights driving a truck & see the day dawning each working day & have for 15 years & I still enjoy the "experience" & your poem reflects it wonderfully |
