Waiting upon the string of times
that bear the unfolding burden
to these, unknowing and troubled wiles,
where tests of faith unhurried
go blindly forth in better boasts
than what may now be showing.

Or blighted sight as surely could
be weighed on scales disgraced,
mocked for all the mourner's scorn
that plead for unbroken days;
bonds to come unyeidingly
cast in vision's balancing.

For legacies of lesser gain,
heretofore, be now made plain
in whispered crimes' fashioned lines,
enticingly beguiling;
strings not quite so tautly strung
as the motions that would bind them.
