From inside my womb
came hiccups and sneezes and burps
every kick and each move
still turn fresh
in my memory's pain

for months, I wondered who you were
how you'd look

as they placed you
on my newly deflated belly
your fright howled louder than a tempest
in the dark of night

I thought...you must not have liked me
no maternal instinct had I

but it grew quickly...
like ivy on a brick wall
it's tendrils
twining themselves
into the mortar of my soul

oh you adorable little squirm of a worm
with huge questioning dark eyes

your head...shaped like a cylindar
hair standing on end
like a scared alien
plucked unknowing
from another world

your journey too swift and turbulent
pulled from the cramped comfort
of mommy, who nested you safely warm
with her pulsating flesh

with the cruel slap of haste
you were suddenly here
in the glare of this
cold shiny place

and of course...
there were those straange faces
staring at you

its no wonder you cry...
my little alien
~

Rest in His tender arms tonight dear friend and poetess. ... I was shocked to read the news here tonight, I haven't been in here for a while... I was pulled to PIP tonight. God bless whoever had the forsight to pull this one out and dust it off. A fitting poem indeed for the book.

As another parts the veil, returns,
For they have run their race,
And having set their pace,
Again meet their immortality face to face.

This entire poem timeless and universal.

And these lines:

.
"Like ivy on a brick wall
It's tendrils
twining themselves
Into the mortar of my soul."

What she seems to have done with her love and kindness to so many here at Passions.

May God bless and give strength and peace of mind to her family and friends she's left behind.

.

There are never any words that can ease the depths of grief experienced by this type of loss.  Then to compound that with another leaves one with a profound sense of confusion, sadness and dismay.  It is obvious that this poet has touched the lives of many.  May the loving God grant her and her family grace and peace.
