It all starts with a simple word
Open
That is what she said to me that day
Open
It repeats in my mind and words began to relate
Reveal
That is what she is asking of me
Expose
Her requirements are easy enough
Uncover
My true feelings hidden deep inside
Clear
That is the message she wants

Why must I struggle then to give her what she needs?
Fear
Yes I know this enough
Hurt
I have felt that painful touch
Trust
This I lack no doubt in my mind
Concern
This all reminds me of the past how long can love truly last

I must give an answer to her it is only fare
Faith
This I have within myself, maybe enough to share
Hope
Don’t we all wish and toss our coins in the well
Joy
Even in bad times I can remember times of laughter that we felt together
Time
We have such short lives why would I want to waste it worrying
Open
This is an easy enough word
Open
Yes I think I know what must be said
I Open My Heart To You
And with this everything I am I reveal
No Fear some Hurt all my Trust
I am an open book to be read by you
You alone I Open too.

I like the format you used...with the single words every other line. Beautiful.

There are so many that open themselves up for all to see, and sometimes I think that is really dangerous, but that is just me.
