Upon the knoll before the rise
of waves to dash the windward shore.
Where knights and knaves once sought the prize
of golden cups from days of yore.

For in the cup of chalice sought
a wish was held within the grasp
to hold what could not once be bought
beyond the door of cold iron clasp.

A beauty lay upon a bed
of down and silk beyond the sill.
With gold of hair, and not yet wed
in search a knight who could and will.

Two hearts did beat a trilling song
of love, desire and long soft sighs.
As bloods did boil of passions strong
beneath moonlit and crystal skies.

And as the sun did rise the morn
upon the knoll before the crest,
a maid awaits a new sire born
of knightly nights in torrid quest.
