My world was in darkness,

Nightmares to the left,
You to the right.
Just when it seemed
Life couldn't be better,
You sent me your first
E-mail letter.
The love you gave me
Became my power.
You gave me hope,
Even in my darkest hour.
When it all seemed so lost,
All out of control,
You came into my life
And your love saved my soul.
You gave me the strength
To win any fight;
So much love from an angel
Increases my might.
So when evil comes
To cause you harm,
With a sword in my hand
And a shield on my arm,
I'll stand and face Hell,
Stand against their dark art,
And defeat them all
With the strength of my heart.
They'll never know mercy,
They'll only know pain!
But they'll never be able
To hurt my angel again.
If I have to stand,
And surrender it all,
I'll rise up against them
When I hear you call.
So far from my heart,
You're so far away,
But you steal my heart a thousand times
With each passing day.

Liam dear, this is exceptional work!!! and you have my checkmark.... I like your rendition of the knight in shining armour... it is an old allusion but it still works where hearts in love are concerned. I kinda know who this is for and she is a very lucky lady. I think I'll add this gem to my library as well while I'm here.
