4 Seasons When summer is here, all is settled except the missing spring breeze. When mild wind caresses my face, I wonder why it hasn't set me free. When snow coats all earth, I think of lying on her sleeves as my white pillow. Yet she brings a strand of loneliness that chills my heart. When autumn leaves paint colors for me, I feel beauty surrounds me. But when I see the falling leaf, the brown feather recalls my withering dreams, and mirth of my past floating in mist. (c)Mar 23, 2002 Eliza Simmons Side Note: BTW, which submittion of mine is better? This one or "Rush" I like both of them Just curious. How many of you this is a second read? hehe guess it was too long ago ay. ~Every girl has a dream within. [This message has been edited by aries_luv_ppl (02-20-2003 02:15 PM).] |

(smiles) Oh Eliza, this is gorgeous, sweet friend, this made me smile as I love both this poem and Rush, I'd say I have no perference because I love the imagery in both so much, you paint gorgeous just like Vivaldi and Van Gogh, God Bless You, this has my vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eliza, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

"...I think of lying on her sleeves as my white pillow..." And "...But when I see the falling leaf, the brown feather recalls my withering..." These two images are especially striking. *s When you think you have heard it all, |

Has a nice natural feel to it, a good theme of nature and the passing of time, very good work |

I like both poems, but I did like "Rush" the best because of the images of the moving masses of people that it left in my mind. This poem is much more subtle and melancholy and has a whole different feel to it. But, like I said, I like them both and both got my vote. Good job. -Bob |

The title caught my eye - as where I live is called "the city of four seasons". Certainly glad it did, or I wouldn't have found this gem. Very well done. J There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |

I liked "Rush" but prefer this. I like the touch of bittersweet about wanting the season, but missing what it does'nt have. Ken J Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

I like both your submissions for different reasons...i like the different take on seasons i got from this...one always reads poems singing praises to the beauty of the 4 seasons and so i enjoyed the darker tone of 4 Seasons and the melancholy it inspired...i like Rush however because of its theme..fate/destiny happens to be one of my favourite topics..(i used to be known as faterider in these forums until i changed it to kaile) hope this reader's reaction is useful |
