A ghost that passes through this place
and onto the next, looking for home.
I watch the pointless squabbles and wars
and see the dying as I roam.

Tell me what happened?

I've hated my creator
I've hated my father.
I've loved them both again,
and then gone back to hate.

The ghost utters -
good and evil are but two sluttish lovers
dancing the night away, switching places.

It's dark in here
No one can see anymore
Vision was too frightening, anyway...

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"

Sometimes it is difficult
to detect the line between
love and hate.

Nice writing, fracta.

With the world the way it is, it is understandable how one could become jaded. This poem grabbed me and shook me up! Powerful writing!

(big hugggsssssss) I think we all have these kind of contradictory thoughts time and time again, dearest friend, I guess to fear not the ghost is the first step to believing again, then the appreciation starts to come in! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, you have my vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Got my vote. Hey, I love how this forum brings people together for a brief moment. It's kind of nice. I do remember your stay at Spiritual and your poems of great depth and me trying to somehow interpret them. I like how you take the perspective here of the 'Ghost'... and I do suppose that what is seen today might even scare a ghost away. I know you use so much symbolism that it's useless, but I had to try for old times sake. God bless you my friend.

These really are deep and strongly felt emotions...so which wins..love or hate.  Thanks and a vote.  KJ

I too feel like that ghost, and feel it is so dark right now I wonder if we will ever see.  I certainly will seek you out, totally enjoyed this.

Thanks, all, for the replies.  I hope this poem does well in summing up what has been an awful year for all of us.  2001/2002 was a horrible year, IMHO.  It seems that everyone, including the people I know and love personally, has been having a rough time of it.  There appear to be a lot of pale ghosts of what once were proud warriors.  Like one poet here said, "I'm tired of weeping."  Lord, just make it stop!

In this poem I did not intend to make explicit statements about good or evil.  However, I do intend to state through it that so many people's perception of those two forces has been so distorted that the two forces are now seen as but two past antipodes mixing and mingling, sometimes as one.

You've got my vote Fractal. I enjoyed this when I read it in sanctuary, and I enjoyed it this time. Keep writing.
