Namaste, translated from sanskrit:

The divine in me
honors and blesses
the divine in you.
In truth,
we are One,
the I AM.
*********

In the quieter corners of my being,
I dance in soul's trance to the new year.
Though Taj Mahal shines brightly on clear nights,
I bow and curtsy to God's own majestic sights,
the ethereal dancing rainbow of northern lights.
And I dance in my dreams under cherry blossom trees.
Mt. Fuji smiles at me
as I bow to the wisdom of the ancients,
bended knees in OM moment.

Namaste, namaste, namaste.

I dance 'neath Jerusalem skies
underneath an olive branch,
and pray to God above, please,
give us another chance to dance
in honor of Peace, Love, Harmony,
to hold onto another's heartbeat
and tenderly embrace the Dove.
For my child is your child,
their dreams not so different.
To grow and perhaps dance someday
'neath cherry blossoms or olive trees.

Namaste, namaste, namaste.

The Rockies burst forth in resplendent color,
mighty roaring rivers rumble and tumble,
echoing my feverish plea...oh God,
I beg of you on bended knee, please
give us another chance to dance
in Peace, Love, and Harmony.
I dance the dance in new year's trance,
'neath starry starry skies,
the very skies once reflected
in Vincent's bluest eyes,
the same stars that glow
tonight from high to low,
purple mountains majesty
to Aussie azure seas.

Namaste, namaste, namaste.
Namaste, namaste, namaste.
Namaste, namaste, namaste.

I bow
to the divine
in You.

Award winning. Stunningly beautiful prayer which honors God.

this line:

~for your child is my child~

so special.....

One of the most beautiful poems I've ever read.

Kacy,

to correct my previous reply which hasn't come up for editing purposes.

~for MY child is YOUR child~ had it backwards, tho. doesn't matter?

With your permission I would like to print and keep this poem. Hugs, Pat

Beautiful homage to God, particularly this time of the year, when we should all give thanks on bended knee for all the beauty of the universe, and the prospect of a new beginning.

Truly beautiful...and oh I could write a book about how we meet that aspect of ourselves that we greet in others.

You said it beautifully, and it's a wonderful creed to start a new year. I thank you for this one.

Namaste...smile.

amigo, thank you so much for reading and commenting. I wish I really did know more sanskrit, but this is one of only a small handful I do know. The namaste concept is fundamentally important to survival of humanity.
