His Mother's Cries |

The quiver of saddened lip, the fall of waking tear. Twinkle of a hazel eye, in thoughts of once was near. Sadness of the dying gone, left to a memory hold. Reminders of gnawing bones, a pet so small but bold. The slightest smile on reflect within the mirror’s time. Where one may then interject, a poet’s inner rhyme. A touch of face feels and rubs the stubble now turned gray. Or hair which was thick and real, though short this mane to stay. A mother’s son, father’s boy, to be the two he tried. Under stress of his employ, he shunned his mother’s cries. A song she sang so sadly on the harp of her death. To comfort her tenderly, he lost his mother’s breath. Her woman’s heart and blue eyes that told him he was missed. as worry fell to long sighs though he was surely blessed. Eyes blinded by a new found love, and passion’s yearning quest, he never heard those soulful cries, the ones within her chest. To see again, hold and say those thoughts that went unheard. To hear again, just one day, and share the love of word. A day will come on the plain where wheat and corn do grow where a son meets her again, and then....his love, she’ll know. |

How deep is understanding? It is a better word than I just gave... You are/were a good son. You are a great father... just know that, and carry on. |

KJ, I do...and I know she understands, though there was a time I didn't think so, and yes... I beat myself up miserably over what wasn't so...sorta a reminder of a country song...about doing all the thing I wish I could have...(can't remember the name, but I hear it most days) Thanx Vandana, hope you are well... |

Barry, this is so beautiful, with such a longing in it......... I know it's about your Mother, but anyone who has lost a loved one can relate. Thank you for writing your heart. "Love makes the world go around" |

Barry--I believe that she knows now...and always has. This touched me a great deal with its piece of heart shared. |

Touching Barry, She knows and that meeting will be a blessed one indeed. I'm also sure She is proud of you and the things you have accomplished, like becoming a masterful poet. |

Beautiful... As a daughter, it reminds me not to take my parents for granted now. As the mother of a son, reminds me to always let him know that I KNOW he loves me and how proud of him I am every single day. As I'm sure your mother is. How could she not be? -Venus |
