THE CLIMB The climb To the top of the mountain, Was so hard, so laborious, So time consuming. Nonetheless With my goal in mind, I set my eyes on the summit, And stumbled, Tripped and clawed Until I was victorious In my effort. Not without pain, I reached the top Of where I wanted, Where I thought I needed to be. Hands held high Towards the heavens, I triumphantly shouted Into the wind. The echo I expected, Was not there. I looked down From where I had painfully climbed, And realized I was standing at the top Of an awfully small Very insignificant hill. |
