A Memory Of Her Warmth

I felt your warmth surround me,
A radiant love as bright as gold.
I reached to hold you once again,
and memories started to take hold.

I wonder now if there even was a key
Up there high on that dusty old shelf?
I never saw one before, but she said she did
And retrieved it so I could free myself.

We unlocked my cold heart that day,
And pretended to take out the hate.
We turned every bad thing into a smile,
I think that day changed my own fate.

We sat and pretended to toss fear away
Out my top window up to the sky of blue.
She said, “No more will you have to fear
Because I’ll always be here right with you.”

As I sit and cry the saddest tears of blue,
It’s her and only her who can wipe them away,
She eases my pain, heals my heart and hurt,
With the things I think she might say.

I remember how we both patiently waited
For this day to finally be here?
Well it came and went with no fanfare.
Again, you were right Willow dear.

For now I’m lost amidst this crowd of life.
My heart is drifting on an empty sea.
I know I’ll be myself soon again,
Because somehow I feel you here with me.

To Willow
Who is always here for me,
with all my love

Sharon this is such a beautiful gift of love and remembrance from you to her...
I am sure she is smiling, and holding you very closely.

Sharon--Never doubt her love is with you, a connection that can never be broken.  Your poem is gorgeous, as the muse that inspired it.

I chanced to watch "The Letter" this afternoon...one of my favorite movies, up there with "Somewhere in Time".

I thought of you, and Willow...

as all things ARE possible.

You all have become such a part of my spiritual well being too but this sweet sister angel's guidance will always be what I turn and listen to, as strangely enough I feel she is there when I need her with that comforting answer, or at least to steer me on the right path.  I think our connection with past souls refines our intelligence, conscience, and our consciousness quite frankly, but I can only speak from my own experience with it.

You know how we often tell someone that has lost a loved one through death that they will remain a part of them through memories?  Well, it is true, and if you maintain that connection you will never, ever loose them but it takes work as memories will fade if not tended to.

Thank you all for understanding and reading.

And your poetry does her justice. May she never be forgotten in your heart…as I know she will not. I think she will always live inside you Sharon.

I wonder if you have any idea of how warming it is when you refer to her like you do as she was so special and to me and always will be.  Funny how she is still my rock, but then so is this place and all of you.  Whew what a year!  Thanks to you all for your kindness and caring.
