It’s not my intent To give you a litany Of all that I’ve said Merely to underscore that Which you already know But, words are all I have The sole vehicle That would bring me to you Not clever, elegant or even Terribly well-spoken Yet, bearing The truth of my being As D.N.A. bears The truth of my body And as such, I always assumed That they would have An inherent value As verity should I’ve tried to construct And arrange them In such a way as to give Weight to thought Form to feeling To make tangible What I find in my heart And found that these tokens When strung into psalms Make a poor offering To the goddess of love Like the dropping of bricks Into the dark of a well Never sure of their impact Or the impression they leave The worth of my words Has always been measured By their faint, hollow echo |

I’ve tried to construct And arrange them In such a way as to give Weight to thought Form to feeling To make tangible What I find in my heart And found that these tokens When strung into psalms Make a poor offering To the goddess of love Ed, I would have to say that the words are worth very much. You do have a wonderful way of putting them to verse. Enjoyed much! |

Like the dropping of bricks Into the dark of a well Never sure of their impact Or the impression they leave The worth of my words Has always been measured By their faint, hollow echo wranx - this is a heck of a great write. Enjoyed this. Chris ![]() "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

Yeah, two kicks in the shin!! One from Karen, and one from me...because this poem says so much of you, your character and the true feelings of a humble man... I salute you ... |

Silence is golden less is more and I'm a slow learner!!! This goes beyond an echo...deep into the hollows, and worth every single word. Nice wranx~ |

Thanks for the keeper Ed. Your words never fail to stir these heartstrings. "Yet, bearing The truth of my being As D.N.A. bears The truth of my body" You bleed truth. |

...But, words are all I have... Indeed, they are all anyone has, and the magic does come in the conveyance... which you do, very well... |

And found that these tokens When strung into psalms Make a poor offering To the goddess of love Like the dropping of bricks Into the dark of a well Never sure of their impact Or the impression they leave The worth of my words Has always been measured By their faint, hollow echo ================================ they have much impact poet sir..and leave a many impression...none of which are hollow..me thinks ya need a new "goddess of love" ... one that knows fine poetry when its gifted. excellent angsty write of humility, love this line: When strung into psalms very cool! Will the wind remember the names it has blown in the past? |
