With scent of lilac Sat beside me in the room, Backwards thinking as we sat drinking, Words to silence slips as both slow sips, Smelling flowery perfume, Memories come back. T’was cups and not sword Vessels of filling meaning With the glad notion of emotion Before sad seeing sent us fleeing, When our youthfulness beaming Was the truth of word Enter into war, Take lives of growing promise The innocent hand turn into man With training of will teach them to kill, They need not youth’s innocence, No, Not any more. Come peacefully home, Calm your brooding troubled mind, Let fade off the red of all the dead, Ignore the red hand that made the man, Will peace now be yours to find, Fade all that was shown. Eyes of deepest brown She gazed as if sensing thought, Tracing back my mind journey through time, To a childhood friend young once again, Those old memories she brought Without any sound. “It’s my father’s card” She said in a quiet tone, “He said that you would know what to do, And would find a way to save my day, I have only you alone, And finding was hard” “I’ll help if I can” As I drained the cup of wine, “What is the problem, what has happened? It must be weighty to send you to me. If there’s an answer to find, I’ll do what I can” (END part 2) Gloom This is all that I have at the moment, think of it as a partial dream, or a story yet to unfold. I will be pleased to accept possible Story Lines from this point. Either in response or e-mail me at [email protected] and I will Credit any ideas used or even poetic incorperation. |

A very strong story line which I am sure will bring much more poetic verse to our eyes......and I await more. Well done Prof. |
