In the thin of the skin of me
I search for hidden poetry.
Sometimes the search
brings a sigh and a tear.
Sometimes a smile and a giggle
emerges
even when the face of me
wants to frown,
to keep me on the downhill ski
instead of upon the lift.
Sometimes,
the thin of me can be
cool to the touch, refreshing.
And sometimes it is fiery,
and scorches the eyes and ears.
But always in the thin skin of me,
I find my hidden poetry.

I doubt that's what you meant, but it does present and interesting twist.

I believe that poets are very thin-skinned, but we're an emotional lot, and have to let things get through, so we have material on which to write!! This was excellent, my friend!!! ~~S~~

Kacy, I feel the way Sunnyone does...people have so many emotions and feelings to let out that are right under the suface of the skin. and writers just let them out on paper. Thanks for sharing....
