Forty Licks Don’t know why he started counting, must have been the tension mounting. He claims his theory is correct: by number ten, he will connect. Slowly, with long, circling motions, he prods at ocean’s emotions. Thirty – he’s honed that flicking skill, his tongue moving in for the kill. Slurping and sucking sounds delight, sailing higher, the goal’s in sight. There’s nothing left to do but scream, he’s finally finished his ice cream! So if you want this here fella, ask him – chocolate or vanilla? Core p.s. Don’t forget to put your licks on your secret Santa’s list! |

At the sight of the title, I remembered the days of high school in the dean's office...when I was a bad girl...and couldn't take detention...so I took the licks. Well, a delightful read this turned out to be...much different than I first thought. |
