To a place where wind shears swiftly cut by storm cloud covers disappeared on the fly entered a group of seasoned mini-cell chasers convening on a suspected weather system towards a spot where moisture was just right and current updrafts occurred near insight. the sky would open up in front dramatically tornado hunters captured a moment frantically equipped with phone, laptop, film and maps a camera focus caught on a bissected sky it's shutter snapped.... a tinge of orangy hue was crossed dust and debris carelessly tossed a plan unfolded where to stop the town of Spencer lay next in skew lightening streaks completed the view. some residents would perish in that town in direct path of a high speed funnel draped with a precipitating urgency headed by contributing clouds churning fast-forward. temporarily it escaped lens view then reappeared in full force shedded its dusty debris cover reminders of dust bowl days set in storm cells sprouted from a tumultuous din sirens wailed along high plain horizons distressed gents crammed a Sioux Falls motel to learn of losses weather reports would tell... Martin, you've captured that scene vividly. Mother Nature can really whip us good sometimes, reminding us we are not really in charge after all. |

Very true storms can be predicted, tracked and followed and then at best townspeople warned..thanks for sharing. |

ah yes, the fury of Mother Nature...what a tragic event...it happened in Newton Mississippi a couple days ago, headed right for Florida panhandle...luckily all we got is rain, lightning, and wind. Life is certainly unpredictable. |

Thanks for sharing all, mother nature is unpredictable...credit should go to William Reid and his friends for their work here in helping to track this particular storm. Dixie, didn't know there were tornados in that region, but up until a few years back never expected them just off the island of Montreal either!
