Fear Now Has A Sound

At last fear has a sound
   the cracked voice
over the phone
    the nurse shaped clone
who delivers with emotionless
  words that blur together
heavy now the tether
   of fear that grips my heart.

They're pictures
   in black and shades of gray

      a spot

so small, so small

      not supposed to be there

dear God, not at all

     fear now has a sound

and I can't bear the noise.
