When the storm came down the mountain and the river submerged the bridge we did not run or panic would leave that up to the others Instinctively, we rendezvoused and made our way toward the empty cabin in the aspen thicket with the leaky roof tattered curtains and in one shadowed corner an antique, wood burning stove The river would mend itself, we agreed and, shortly, they would scurry off to one of the furnished cabins and further discuss the state of the union As we ran, the distant voices trailed into the roar of that turbulent river and were replaced by the sights and sounds of our sweet, anxious panting we flew through the door and into the intoxicating silence within those wooden walls and you could almost hear them inviting us in to explore the moment I had never felt so alive! the heat of our bodies evaporating into the cool tingly dampness of mountain air... And now, This is as much as I can bear save this one memory the river took them all. Rf |

very nicely told... enjoyed the imagery and the ending indeed is a clincher... good work. [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (02-14-2003 08:42 AM).] |
