after full pack inspection,
we used to gleefully share
the chocolate bars we had
so cleverly concealed,
smugly savouring the sweetness
of forbidden pleasures.

these days, in the midst
of exaggerated worries,
I keep reminding myself
that boys,
not quite past the stage of
getting cheap thrills out of
deceiving their superiors,
are gearing themselves up for war

My thoughts are
constrained by my ignorance
but
I want to give
everyone in our world
a chocolate bar~
that despite all our differences,
we are bound together by
our love of such simple pleasures

that would be quite an acomplishment for Hershey's (and you)

nice write...I wish we could all just get along...it's sad that people can't see simple pleasures of just living day to day without the threat of war

What a wonderful concept!!! Your sentiment in this poem is preciously 'sweet'. If you find Ben Laden and all the suicide bombers, plus Sadam, I'll bet all Americans would give up their candy bars and much more.

And, not just Americans, perhaps then we could get Europe to support America's efforts to weave world peace.

I understand your intention is that of expressing a want for united peace for all mankind and that is a beautiful thought.

I weep for the whole world. Unity is especially important at this critical point of the ~State of The World ~.

Sociopaths and psychopaths who are funded and have power over millions, unfortunately, cannot be placated with anything less than the CHANCE of weaving evilness in all they touch, and death and destruction not their only goals; breaking the back and the mind and the spirit of every decent ~World Citizen~ is the beginning of world terror they crave, because they are depraved.

Does anyone honestly believe they would stop if they've conquered the United States of America? That every other country won't then be that more vulnerable?

To close our minds to the fact they exist and are actively seeking world power and that they have a "PLAN" that was written long ago, is to dig our own graves and our brothers graves, one way or the other.

Kaile, I have the highest regard for this effort in your poem. But, I cannot help but speak and weave what I believe to be the truth of the matter.

Unity is so very, very important right now.

...hurry on and put an order in to the Universe right away for billions of chocolate bars. I, and a host of angels will help disperse them to every inhabitant of Mother Earth! Then everyone, as you so poetically expressed, would be able to savor the sweet flavor of life's simple pleasures ---and forget about the bitterness.
