Daddy even though your parents i stayed with untill i was grown
I never for one minute not know that your love for me was strong

you always made me feel like to you i was such a treasure
when i would see you come up the road it was such a pleasure

After i grew up we would ride down a country road listening to a song
We would sing to the music even if we had the words wrong

We would take long rides hunting a special fishing hole
We would find a place and catch a fish it would feel so good to our soul

It gave me so much pleasure to have our special talks
Then down a little dirt trail we would take a long walk

Daddy i always knew that way down deep in your heart
That in your life i was a very big part

Even if you couldnt always be with me i knew you cared
