We are in a vast, inevasible well of souls.

Like silver rivulets, we flow silently
through massive darkness.
No blood or root, or history
impedes our benighted urging.
With other, unpathed waters we emerge
in a ceaseless tide of giving
and giving up.

The well, our abyss, has boundaries
defied and defined beneath the incessant pumping,
our instinctive breathing,
the drawing and the draining of many littlelives it holds.

We claim
these littlelives and countless hours,
the little destinies carved and fulfilled
in the arms of this well-scarred darkness:
the ordinary, the doubtful,
those lacking anguish,
those without grace.

We, littlelives, we are
the lovers of passing days and desires.

My goodness, this is packed with lots to think about.

i really like this

and i love the end.... these littlelives (us) "the lovers of passing days and desires" yeah, i want to be counted as a lover of passing days and desires...and drink my well dry!
