REFLECTION

Your face enters my mind

as one would perceive a reflection

upon the waters of an unflowing pond

with the occasional ripple

that would distort my clear viewing

of your facial features

I squint my eyelids slightly

and I grasp for the image of your face

Now becoming more distinct....

You are laughing...

You are beautiful.

An unforseen ripple moves across your face

to dissillusionize

as your image vanishes

with this rippling effect of water

I fear the departure of your laughing face

from my thoughts.

With your face now fading into nothingness

a trailing tear makes its way across my cheekbone

and the last glimpse of your eyes becomes extinct

I try to recapture you and I squint

for the lucid form of your face

that once held its place in my mind

Emptiness now surrounds me

come back

I plead!

As the last sound of your laugh

is vaguely heard off in the distance

I remain standing in obscuration

With one memory left....

A blur of your laughing face swimming before my eyes

When I saw your reply on my poem, I looked for your post.
No wonder, I didn't see it, you hadn't posted a poem, yet.
This poem was worth the wait, though. It is really good, and
I look forward to reading mor of your poetry.

I know you will like it here, by the amount of the replies
you've made already. You're going to fit right in with this

If it is possible for one to see
the compelling but ever elusive longing,
I saw it vividly. You brought it to life
in the rippling waters.
I'm glad you posted. And it didn't
even hurt, did it?

Tari

Your words are filled with lovely visuals and the missing of what may have only been a mirage.

I've felt the ripples and have tried to hold on to a smile and the vision that reflects the laughter of happier times.

It is beautiful what you wrote...

Welcome DP~

Dr. Pepper...Welcome to Passions!  Seems that you've found the right way to go about our fair little community...Meet, Greet and say "see mine?"...You're going to like it here, that, I can tell!

I'd send you a greeting card, with this lovely poem on it, but I can see that has been accomplished already!  So...continue to enjoy yourself, and if you have any questions, just contact any moderator of your choice!
