i stand staring into the inky sky on tiptoes I stretch upwards upwards reaching for the stars a fiery comet streaks into sight i push with all my might thrusting into space and grab it by its tail then watch it disintegrate in my closed fist head over heals I plummet backwards backwards swirling black empty void soul screaming in dark despair crashing me to earth i cry as i look upward watching my comet disappear into the night i sit my hands before me covered with the stuff of all my dusty dreams Almost Almost i grasp these shattered dreams into this tightened fist and shake it with fury against the night hurl these screams into the void and send them chasing after these lost dreams =========================== i'll dream new ones tomorrow! |
