Near golden sunsets

Stay away.

I'm still crying inside,
listening to each teardrop
sputter against my seared heart.

I can't want you that way;
I would only see her blue eyes,
feel her smooth hair,
taste her heated tongue.

Stay away.

I'm in love with a living ghost.
I can't close my eyes;
she haunts my mind.

You will only hurt;
I will only hurt you.
I only hurt
because she is only hurting me.

this is painful, but I like it.
The first section I especially felt.
my heart feels like it was thrown into a blazing firance now, youch!

I echo Nan's words, "and this too shall pass". I use it as a mantra when I am going through difficult times. Here's hoping that the time needed for healing your hurt, will be short!
