Wrapped in societies sheild of lies Tears flow from ordinary eyes, Eyes liquid I wish they would desolve and creep with jellylike slowness down my mared face I don't want to see or judge by sight like those who surround me I want to like what I like not what society has selected as a standard pined up posters branded, brainwashed The inside of my mind vandalized with images of what lifes suposed to be like but will never be right for this girl I want people to be open minded of me, them, they, and we Don't let the veil of unreal be pulled over your own thoughts I want to thrive and be happy or sad at what ever moment without out being branded manic depressive Mind [edited by moderator] with or without medication I want to be that quivering body emerging reluctant for a moment Spreading wings, living for three days Floating over where ever God takes this soul Tasting the sweet things, licking salt from the sweating Being accepted for the unique things that mark me scar me, beautify the fiber of me Accepting life with out worrying about things I have no control over And dying gracefully in the end, unchanged still the same Angela when I emerge into the place, where my grandparents are waiting I saw an angel in the marble and carved until i set it free Michaelangelo [This message has been edited by Sunshine (01-31-2003 06:53 AM).] |
