In the arms of the angel

0 posted 2003-01-30 02:46 PM

Still stuck
Somewhere between
That awkward waking up stage
Of my unfolding life
My dreams warn me
My feelings consume me
This is my struggle
Each and every day
I look in the mirror
Confused more so than before
I lose myself each time
I walk out that door
Having to face another day
With a plastered smile on my face
All the make up in the world
Is never going to change
How I battle inside
Bags beneath my eyes
For the past couple lifetimes
I require a simple touch
Or even a few compliments
Atleast I think
Thats what I need
I even  crumble each time
I hear the faded frequency of an old memory
Trying to reach my soul at night
Sometimes I don't get it
These emotional outbursts
And why I run and hide
Continously play cat and mouse
With all my friends
Even myself
I make no sense
Rambling down this road of life
Will I ever get to know me
Will I ever understand
These feelings instead
Of always running
My body cries for sleep
Tired of this extra drama
I can't seem to release
Can't seem to relax
From this emotional trip
From my inner struggle
Wonder if any of this will ever make sense...

you're in the arms of the angel fly away from here from this dark cold hotel room and the endlessness that you fear...

I tried to choose one or two lines and  I can't..I loved it all..and no how you feel about the bags under eyes and the heaviness in your life.
Good first post

I too, know what it feels like to walk around with a mask on your face. So often we wonder if anyone really cares. But here is a word of hope: God cares, and He is there for you.

Keep up the writing... And welcome to Passion in Poetry.

~Welcome to Passions~

Wonderful first poem; you've captured many feelings of many people; I understand this perfectly. Keep writing, for it helps us, who see ourselves, and you to find revelation, and resolution,  smiling...I hope!

If indeed this is you. Always hard to know if someone is writing a current state of mind or situation....

In any case, enjoyed and look forward to more of your poetry.

Hugs, Pat
