Blended Acceptance
By Larry Chadwick

I dream of love and days gone by,
My eyes mist up as I gently cry.
Those simple times that have now past,
That some how I thought would always last.

I dream of love and days to come,
My mind delights that you’re the one.
More simple times now lie ahead,
Enable me to embrace my past instead.

I dream of all that life must be,
My heart accepts the things I see.
Less simple than I hoped for us,
But I’ll remember all because I must.

I’ll treasure then as I treasure now,
My life complete in both some how.
As simple as it will ever be,
My past and future eternally.

January 30, 2003

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry,

Surrender and acceptance so important to peace of mind. I liked this a great deal.  Quite inspiring. Thank you,

Pat

I picked the same part that Sunshine did as the part that rang true...
enjoyed this...

Acceptance when coupled with
contentment...well, it doesn't
get much better than this.

Larry--I can feel the thought that went into this, making it both tender and strong.

Martie,
You have no idea. I have had no voice for poetry for a couple months now. And yet it still is about loss. My life seems so normal but getting past such a big bump is so hard. Thank you dear.

Nan,
Indeed we do and that isn't all bad. Even though some of life is. Thanks.

Sweet suthern,
Thank you very much.

Miah,
You do know how to melt my heart. Thanks.

Chris,
It's all I know. And thank you dear friend.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
