How could I have known the rules
when you only wrote them to serve yourself.
I don't know how to play anymore
all that's left is your mark on my heart

since you never took the time to explain.

You moved me all right
a quick draw off the top, passing go.
But what you failed to understand
I have my own set of rules that I learned a long time ago

certain to see me through.

Dare you think I'd risk it all
and be held as your prisoner
landing myself in jail
forever bound by your chains
without a means to escape, make no mistake

I'm nobody's fool.

It's true, park avenue isn't the same
after you bought up the railroads
and went running from your game
cornering the market,
while staking your claims

where everyone gets burned, except you.

Now that it's over and packed neatly away
it's so easy to understand.
Your cheating heart doesn't make you a winner
my desire was just part of your strategy

and the game plan made up in your mind.

Wonderful piece, I enjoyed reading it. It holds alot of thought with it.
