Funny, this thing called Love, almost as if it's a thirst for me that is unquenchable.

"Too many miles, and the too little smiles" as my friend Harry Chapin sings, my thoughts seem to drift back to different times,
when I embarked on this love seeking journey.

Finding and loving, the traces permanently left on my soul,
when finally convinced by my heart
that I had to let it go

And then, just when the heart gives up, decides to stay true to ones self, believing that loves lost, is such a cost,
it happens again.

My heart encircled by scar tissue from the deep and sometimes self inflicted wounds, falls once more.

Astonished that I could love once again, not heeding inner warnings at all,
my heart is once again,
allowed to fall.

This one hurts almost as much as the first, yet different as I am older and wiser you see,
and this one will be healed by time also,
If it doesn't spell the death of me.

I like the way you wrote the poem. it was different. But I liked it.

Cold hands means a warm heart
