The heart of you

0 posted 2003-01-22 04:44 PM

Speaking to you this way, without form and rhythm,
I find that the words do not come as easily as they normally do.
But, it is how I must speak to you now.
I must speak to you as my self, as your own, as the poet of your heart.
For in this guise, I can best tell you what is on my own heart.

I love you.
Not as the flowers need the rain, or as the ocean needs the shore.
Not as the Winter needs the Spring, or as the night needs the day.
I love you.
I love you as you are.
I love you as your heart sings with my own
When candles burn against the wall, and the only sound is your dreaming breath.
I love you as your eyes meet with my own
When the only thing that matters is the way you are in my life.
I love you as your hands slip softly into mine
When our dancing makes the world stop and stare and wonder in delight.

Our song is no longer quiet, a secret that is kept beneath.
Rather, it is something that is seen every day in skies of life,
When we rise at dawn, and spin at dusk.
That is all that is needed, the sight of us.
We make the world move and listen with our light and our words.
Timeless, we are.
Timeless, we shall be.

So, rest now my Moonlight Love,
Rest your head now so soft upon my Daylight shoulders,
And sleep the sleep of lovers again.
Dream the dreams of Romeos and Juliets,
And feel the touches of fingers and feathers.
Feel the thread of my love
As it begins to wrap around your heart,
Binding it to itself and to my heart.
See me shining in your sky,
And know that no matter how far,
Our hearts are always in love.

What light through yon window breaks?  It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.

Sweet and from your heart. Thats m'love.

So, I may be biased here, but wouldn't some reasons I like reading your work be obvious by now?

This is absolutely superb! Exquisite!...and you say this verse is "free"?!? To my mind, you should charge an admission fee for your readers to enter your poetic domains!

Sending you appreciative hugs for the priviledge of reading your words of love,

EA

Yes, they are my love, but it is always nice to hear you say them.

  Thank you.
