They stood under a floral rainbow once the storm had passed through a long dark summer and the black months had drifted north. The early sun awakened her gently touching a golden shoulder. Beads of perspiration kissed her upper lip good morning. The white sand was her bed, there to cushion her in case she fell back into his bad dream or tumbled from a wedding vow. She filled his ring with finger and fed him cake and promises. They sipped champagne and drank each other’s eyes in their own secluded jungle. Sweat dotted his shirtfront when the breeze blew the loose cotton against the porous skin which had, with foolish pride, tried to restrain the wonderful new life that flowed from it. |

Good poem. I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait. |
