As we grow older,
And hair turns to gray,
Our thoughts and our bodies,
Change in some ways.

A friend or a loved one,
Passes on-leaving grief,
But they leave us with memories
That touch us so sweet.

The soul never dies,
Nor their memories depart,
They'll talk to you daily
And live on in your heart.

Time brings us healing,
It takes quite a while,
But their soul lives within you,
And will soon bring a smile.

May God bring you peace,
May your heart quickly mend,
May your tears turn to laughter,
Till you're together again.

Mr.T-rag,
it's very difficult to know what to say when giving support to someone who has gone thru so much heartache lately, but you said so well everything I also wish for Marsha and family.

Yanno, sweets... the times are few when I'm literally moved to tears by words... but this is one of those times. The poem is incredibly beautiful... but the caring heart that created it is even more so.

My deepest thanks, dearest friend... this one will reside in my library and have a place of honor in my heart.

Toe,

This is so well written; sensitive,
compassionate and filled with love. It is so hard to know what to say and how to say it when trying to comfort the bereaved. With grace, you just did.
Hugs to you and may Marsha and all families and friends involved find strength and perseverance throughout this sad time.

Warm regards, Pat

Toe darling man what can I say but thank you

In shadows now I’ll walk awhile
Until the dawn brings again soul’s smile
And though he’s gone from this place
I’ll still contain his loving trace
The shadows don’t seem so lonely
Now I know you’ll walk with me
I thank you for the gift of this
For the sweet touch of friendships kiss

Sorrows shadows murmur my name
They hunger to snuff out my soul’s flame
And though they crowd all around me
They can’t keep me there eternally
And while I know that you are there
I’ll feel the touch of souls who care
So when I emerge from shadows night
I’ll walk again in friendships light

Shadows hover too close and near
The touch of them is cold and drear
And though they seem like friends to me
The place they haunt is so lonely
Thank you then for this gift from you
Which shields my soul as only hope can do
Friendships touch will steady me
When the road ahead seems too lonely

And though I walk with shadows all around
Friendships hand holds me safe and sound

Marsha

It is with eyes that are blurred with too many tears I read this and I thank you for the touch of your loving heart that has given me this gift.

Thank you always for your kindness and for having the kind of soul that is willing to aid another in times of need

Thank you always
Mushy

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds
but I can face the future with courage brave and bold

As I'm reading this thread I'm silently crying. It brought back memories of my late husband. Mostly, though, it brought memories of how my friends were so loving, compassionate, and supportive during my time of mourning.

Buzz, it takes a special kind of person to be able to write the feelings inside their heart the way you've done here. Even though lots of people feel this way, they don't have the ability to tell their feelings. Thank you for letting our Marsha know how we all are feeling for her.

Marsha, I am truly sorry for your loss. All I know to say is that your "family of friends" here at PIP are right by you and will support you along your path of healing.

You certainly did this hearthug poem with your arms wide open.  How very true it is that we keep any one that we love alive long after they depart in our thoughts.  I wish to sign this lovely poem to Marsha as well so she will know that I too also feel her pain, and wish she reaches a place of understanding and acceptance soon, and also the love of her life finds his peace too.  You are a wonderful man you realize that right?  Take care of yourself Marsha.

Toe~
Such a tender penning for our Marsha.
You've spoken the feelings of many,
and you've done it beautifully.
You have a heart of gold, my friend.
Hugs,
~Vicky

I just have to say ((((((((ToeRag))))))))), Thank you for so eloquently expressing what our hearts can only feel...how utterly sweet of you! My heart sighs in grief knowing that our sweet mushy is facing so deep a trial. My prayers and love are with her and her family...holding out the same hope...that her tears will turn to joy and that they will be reunited one day.
