"You're late at the tea party,"...called the hatter but poor Alice's tardiness was another matter no valentines were set for her at the table the company of animals then were unable so it goes for humanity by and large as unwelcomed guests into other domains we barge and go through blind motions of red hearts to pic not long after discarding gift wraps from St Nick. We are Alices in a wonderland that we have created a severe sense of loss in foreign homes continues unabated never content to reap the heart harvest at home we climb rafters savagely as rampant gnomes. "You're late", cried the hatter to Alice it didn't matter she had to intrude and risk being rude... |

Smiling...appreciated the smudge of current events... The bigger picture drawn brought visions of environmental destruction...the way that humans have of taking over and claiming rights to what we do not own. Good write. ThisDiamond |

Thanks Diamond for clicking in..funny how I came across Alice in the first place..just thinking of hearts and the whole celebration of giving them and then I remembered the tale of a girl who would have loved to pick them, who grew taller then her own good, intruded on a strange new world and 'upset' the order around around, her that got me going on this poem...naturally we think of Alice as good but then there's our other side. |
