What he really meant to say to the virgins. Oh all you virgins be quick and marry early, To lose the flower your husbands cherish dearly. Silly fools they are to find the privelege dear, Too blind to see when should begin their fear. Cuckold them then with stable boy and brand, Such manual labourers have worthy, strong hands. Or perhaps a smith who boasts tools of great power, You'll be glad then to be no virgin who would cower. Then a bouncing baby, a child, whose it matters not, As long as it's no moor's, hubby won't catch the plot! But occupied it will keep his eyes, and happy he will be, And when you hunch behind the bush, too busy for to see. Yet locals soon wag their tongues and often become a threat, Then to the coast where sailors' departure is a sure bet. Thus having been loosened up, sail from port to start anew, And end up in a garden with the optimist who married you. -majnu |
