I don't ask that you understand or try to comprehend
the places I've been or how far I have to go.
I've seen it for myself up close
and have come away with the knowledge
that it is I who must carve a space in an uncertain destiny
and live within my means that are tied to the hands of fate.

I've been carried away by the winds of change
only to end up beside myself in some God forsaken land
taking comfort in the seclusion
where others have made the connection
but never truly see the attraction
of the deep blue ocean of hope where I've castaway.

Who better to meet my needs
and find a place in the sun that makes me whole,
ultimately creating some happiness to call my own.
Often I feel stranded walking the shores alone
but some days there is no place I'd rather be,
the stretch of sand brings a quiet peace in knowing
that everyday is a holiday if I choose to make it so.

Revised and inspired a long time ago~

It is...mostly what we make of it.

and it is something I have always known and want to believe in.
I think there is something to be said for keeping our distance and the giving and  taking of our personal space.

Thank you for being here wranx~

There is something to be said about this poem; it is excellent. A wonderful way to think and live and even were we to do it half as well as depicted here, we still can find a sense of high self-esteem and a sense there are always options. We don't have to stay stuck, forever. I truly enjoy this. A very good philosophy of living. You wrote it so well.

Thank you, Pat

your words speak of a good place you have
chosen for yourself without looking back, they are inspriing and uplifting, and the poem is quite good

These thoughts are often heard in the sea shells we listen to along the shore, enjoyed.

Wow. I like the way this poem seems not so contrived.

It's amazing I won. I was running against peace, prosperity, & incumbency.

Lori, I've always felt that until we can love  self  and be content witin ourselves, we can not love another person the way God intended. I don't think that's being conceited, either.

(sigh) Oh Lori, this is so very true, sweet friend, we must first love ouselves to truly find a place in the sun, for if we go beyond the first step of the criteria, it will only be partly cloudy and there is always that premonition of disatisfaction! (big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
