Upon reading poetry
inside the BUSI college
maybe it's even banned
inside these bulging halls
of legal tender hearts.

Still the effect
on the passing pitchmen
the tough profs
like most everything
is priceless
(what paradoxical allusion is this?)
priceless
priceless

I think it’s the music
headphones wrapped around the cerebellum
MP3’s all of them
Fake

I mustn't be terribly serious
not mesmerizing the meanings
intense with the eyes
window shopping words
never going in to buy
Hell, the poet doesn’t even try

He must be one of us
reading required faire
That’s what we’ll tag him
For kicks even stamp him
"This End Up"
upside down

I wish the English college
had a football team
We would lose every game
but not for straight ties
and too many greenbacks on the field

I’ll take some

Defeat we would live for
and wash up on distant shores
Where they call it fútbol
and they play the game
without their hands

This is the end
I’m just waiting on a friend

Are you in a busy-ness school program?
LOL at the MP3 reference, and the 'legal tender hearts.'
What does a poet read there?

I've never read any of your work before but  I have to go with Hair on this....I've read it 3 times and I'm still drawing ideas and meanings out of it....fabulous, I'm lovin' it.

What does MP3 stand for? I hope you don't mind me asking. Thanks.

hey stranger. In a strange land these days?
oh-but-I-KNOW...

there is an undercurrent of "lonely" here I understand all too well.

Walt, I like the way you had me reading it so fast. I was trying to see what the next line was before I got there, for some reason....

I did enjoy reading it.
