My senior year I fell in love With my red and black Ford. Called myself Mustang Sally On Dad’s C.B. where I voiced back and forth. That car always gave me some trouble even when I drove it right a built in air conditioner small hole in the radiator made it run a little hot. First stop would be my cousin’s house and her bird dog Effie Scraping bottom of my purse to make it to a movie turning up the tune in car to listen to the acoustics Bad Co.’s work of art Always loved their Music Took a rode trip in my car To the mountains I was bound Walking along the rocky creek Was a six pack of beer we found. Didn’t drink it but we sold it And gassed up the car some more Might of ran a little faster If had been a four in the floor. Still it was my favorite car That I always will remember Given to me on Christmas Day the 25th of December That car was a classic then And even more of one now If I could find the owner I would buy it back some how. . . . (well actually we hid the 6-pack of beer and someone else stole it) . . [This message has been edited by Salty (01-09-2003 11:47 AM).] |

they were nice cars to look at..and they are classics... but not known for comfort. The back seat was just too small for any real "relaxation" (chuckling) Nice memory... perhaps someday you can find the car or one like it... |

I love that car! Hope you can find it, but they'll charge you triple what you sold it for. LOL at the beer part of it, smart to leave it alone while the keys are still in your pocket. |

Midnitesun Don't you know it!!! When My parents gave it to me...it looked brand new. The people that had it had just put in a new engine. I just wonder if it's still around here somewhere???? |

67 was not a good year for back seats in muscle cars... small and not well padded they were difficult to get in and out of, lacked leg room and only youth made them bearable at all... Sometime I'll have to write about the back seat in that old Chrysler New Yorker... now there was a back seat!!! If you weren't interested or motivated to go anywhere and you had the right company...a back seat could be a world of its own... lots of places to explore. |

My dad once described a 1939 Packard adventure. Talk about romance! [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (01-09-2003 12:16 PM).] |

Upon reading this, I got an urge to listen to Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. Enjoyed. |

Salty girl, I love those Mustangs...my brother had a 1965 burgundy Mustang.....beautiful car. Now, this makes me think of the 1987 aerocoupe 1987 SS Monte Carlo I just sold a few weeks ago..... It was one of a limited amount made so that Dale Earnhardt could race it in Nascar that year. It was black with a red pinstripe...burgundy enterior.... We loved that car. We bought it brand new, and the first two speeding tickets I had ever gotten in my life were in that car...(Now, I didn't say those were the only two times I ever speeded...HeeHee) That car would RUN, I'm telling you..... Well, I'll see you later. Thanks for the memories...... "Love makes the world go around" ~~with love and hugs from Ethel~~ [This message has been edited by garysgirl (01-09-2003 01:24 PM).] |

Opeth I don't think I am familar with that song....but I'll go download it just so I can listen to it. Thanks for sharing quik: Laughing at you worring over my beer ..more than my car lol Thanks for reading gary's girl: They could RUN alright....My Dad kept telling my foot was a little heavy, but I swear that thing ran hot even when I was good a tone of voice: and I even remember your first car, and how it always seem to quit running especially when boys were around to lend you a hand. Cpat back to GROK ....we'll figure out exactly what it was that you were exploring. |
