how is it you cannot remember
the savage waters of the sea
encompassing us,
beyond control...

love,
drowning under the starlight,
I begged for your empathy...

...you touched me then,
the tides relented,

and I spoke,
"I Love You," emphatically.

can you not remember,
the warm grains of sand that
could not equal our kiss,
or taste the salt that
led sadness and the
remorse of having lost,
someone as beautiful
as you,

or is this memory
strictly mine?

Poetry is:
