Pondering my thoughts, while sitting here today Do I love myself? Well, what can I say? As I look inside myself, I know how I feel And the kind of person I am, I will endeavor to tell I know there are emotions, that I am capable of And values I have, are put there from above My parents always taught me, to live by the Good Book And then I wouldn't regret the steps that I took There've been times in my life that I've made mistakes By the choices I made and the road I'd take But even in those times, doing things I now regret I always tried my best, my values to not forget By the Golden Rule, I've always tried to live To be loving and compassionate, and of myself to give Another of my traits that comes from my heart Is to always be honest and truthful, right from the start Another thing there is that I like about me Is in other people I meet, some good I always see No matter what they've done, or how they look or act Everyone I've met has some good, I believe this as a fact I even look pretty good, or so I have been told I know inside is more important, than outer beauty to behold Not wanting to have a sad frown upon my face, I'm always trying with a happy smile, that to replace So as down this road of life and our paths do cross If you don't want to know me, I feel it would be your loss So, am I my own friend, and me do I love? Yes, because I'm a pretty good person, and I do try to please God above |

Thank you, Noah. I hesitate about trying to write a challenge poem, because I know all you other people can write so much better than me. But, I thought about what if we all wrote just alike? It might get to be routine then, don't you think? Now, each poem and writer are different. I like to read the different ideas the writers have. Don't you? I have noticed, though, that most of the time the challenge poems don't get as many replies as most of the other ones do. Have you noticed that? I wonder why? Well, you didn't tell us anything we didn't already know, but you told it with the honesty and self-respect that someone with your qualities also possess. Your poetry is unique and special onto itself. Only you could write of the same topic in your special way. As important as any other for this is also WWW, and who knows that something you say won't have a major impact on someone who completely relates to your style, level of comprehension, ability to speak your heart and mind, that only comes from ~Unique You~ . ~You are special~ Did you add that? You were one of the ones that I remember being so kind to me when I first came here to PIP. Your poems and your replies always come forth with honesty and a loving heart in them. Ethel, you pushed my emotion button again with your loving words. Thank you so much! I actually did teach "the little people" for six years and I do a great deal of counselling in my nursing/alternative health care practice. I am slowly easing back into it. Since my disastrous fall 16 months ago, I have been enduring five hours of physiotherapy and one hour of massage therapy per week. This has not been much fun, but the doctors say I may be able to avoid two major surgeries because I have worked so hard at getting my body back into shape. I am now working out in a gym, cycling, hiking and doing pilates. You should have seen me! Back brace, knee brace, sacral belt, slings--and arrows! Just goes to show the recuperative powers of the body--and the human spirit! Sorry for going on like this!--It just started spilling out! Hey, I think I love me too! I'm a survivor and as my friends all say, I'm an Unsinkable Molly Brown. I am also thought of as being pollyana at times, so I'd suppose I'm a "Molly Polly"! tehe ~ Love ya bunches! Linda |

Goodness, Linda........ I'm sorry to hear about your terrible accident, but am happy to see that you are a fighter. Somehow, I already knew that you are. Someone with as much wisdom, love, and spunk as you have, has had to have lots of different experiences in life. Some good and some not so good, I'm sure. I also could kind of tell that you had done some kind of teaching/counseling. You are not only wise in your mind and intellectual aspects, but also you are wise in "spirit", dear lady. Well, I need to go for now, friend. I just wanted to tell you that I really do appreciate you and all you do for this wonderful "home" of ours at PIP. Also, continue to take care of yourself. I'm sure you will, because we do love ourselves, don't we? HeeHee!!
