Comfort food to beckon back Still warm in sent contenting Trimmed in dreams of Santa’s sack Bibbed bright in gleeful scenting Warm hands to knead a dough delight Shaped well with smiles so broad Topped off in cherry dream sipped light Cheer giggled brisk and mirth guffawed Such silly sights of floured boards Works merry from the offset A masterpiece of heart affords Near done to fill this hearth yet The welcome that will stay awhile Should time slip by unheard Wrapped up in happiness each smile As gingerbread lifts high each word Copyright Kkh 12/17/02 Happy Holidays to all! |
