The Treasure Hunt

The treasure is
what the man looks for;
sometimes gold,
often money,
rarely a single heart.
Finding the gold
or the money ,
satisfied for a moment
is he.
But reaching
what he looks for rarely
there stands nothing left
to make him more happy.
The life is a treasure hunt...

Life most definately is a treasure hunt, each of us looking for those things which give us greatest joy, too often finding that wasn't what we needed, or even wanted, all along, ever the search til we find inner peace. Please don't think I'm twisting your words, for I rarely read a poem the way the poet intended. Just from who I am.
