The Medal A medal placed a mothers breast For doing what her son thought best. For rushing to the aid of pain In spite the act was quite insane. There was no thought of bravery Or second thoughts of fear you see For all he heard were cries and sighs And saw the pleading in his eyes He jumped into an eerie hole That held a weary wounded soul Bound the blood as best he could Heaved him up and then he stood. And through the rain of death and fear Carried him back into the rear. He left him there in mercies dwell And then ran back straight into hell. And never were the twain to meet He disappeared the battles heat. [This message has been edited by Seymour Tabin (01-03-2003 10:54 AM).] |

Such a sad write Sy.. This one pulled me up short. Left me with the feelings I'd like Randy to take me on a ride to a far off land. Ready for tea? ~Morning hugs~ ~Time has cast a spell on you, |

Well written (tsk! aren't they always? - smiling here) An honorable death and seemed I was watching the action transpire. Amazing how heroic some are, you captured it well. Thanks, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Good morning Sy -- today we are having our tea in the midst of lightly falling snow that is predicted to reach up to 20 inches in some areas around here. I think we should move tea to your house. This poem and it's title was not what I expect this morning (which is the sign of a wonderful writer). Thank goodness for unsung heroes. Hugs and snowshoes ... Marti |

A powerful, poignant write, despite the "e" missing from "spit." Couldn't help mentioning it because I believed you'd want to know since it's such a strong message and record of amazing valor and selflessness. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Mr. Seymour, a much different write that we are accustomed to from you each morning. Your poems are usually on a more playful note. but this one is still just as well-written as all of your poetry. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. "Love makes the world go around" |

Sy--Bravery takes so many forms, a tiny minute in a life, from someone who never thought they were brave at all. This poem, dear Sy, is so poignant and human. Thank you for it. |

A true battle cry, dear Sy... This is a wonderful write... Your morning treats are just superb... ...and tell Marti to head to Cape Cod - just a few miles south of her and there's no snow here... though tea with you & Isabel sounds good to me too... |

Seymour darling heart, oh how I’ve missed you and your outstanding ability to write, and when you write like this Oh wow. What do I say in response to this, nothing for you leave me speechless with envy, blown away by the power and the majesty of your words.. This is incredible writing, and I love it utterly, it is beautiful, in its construction, it is sadness personified in its sentiments and it’s beautiful because it is from your soul’s experience. Written with the pen of a craftsman. Excellent language usage, the flow utterly perfect and YOU know that I love it. Absolutely wonderful darling heart, utterly utterly so Love and warm stuff As always Mushy Breathe through the heat of our desire |

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Seymour, this is precious, sweet friend, I love it, I know just how you feel as so many parents have to cope with their children and having to face the tears and agony in war and in violence and abuse and how it can affect them! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
