I lost a friend today
Though I never said goodbye
He made no effort to share his pain
And we never saw him cry

A shameful, selfish way to end
his innocence is lost
They found him on the mountain side
Under the bitter morning frost

So much grief he's left behind
It ended with a gun
I hope his pain is over now
For ours has just begun

Not a good ending for him, nor a good beginning this year for you, the family and friends. Whatever caused him to do this, he is now beyond feeling any more pain.

Darn, this is gut-wrenching. I am so sorry to read about your friend.

I hope he has find some peace and those left behind can one day understand what happened.

what a horrible experience....I just lost a friend a week ago in a car crash...I feel your pain, I truly do. Raw, emotional poetry and very well written.
