I don't get to write much anymore, but I wanted to share this... ![]() Behold the King As He creates all things Speaking words of love He makes the skies The plants The water The earth Behold the King As He bends down with love Molding an Image like His own Looking back, satisfied He breathes life into him And falls in love Behold the King Walking through His Paradise Looking for His children And seeing, alas They have sinned Gone against His will Behold the King Loving His people still Delivering them from death From enemies of the night And telling them That, like in Eden He will walk with them again Behold the King Laying in a manger The King, a tiny Child! But in that little body Holding all the love That turns the plants ‘round Behold the King Speaking in the temple A building there to honor Him And yet, as He stands there Speaking words of life Many turn away And murmur in their hearts Behold the King Oh, behold His agony The spirit is willing But the flesh is weak But, when He stands To receive the kiss of betrayal He is strong, and ready Behold the King Oh, behold His pain! Behold His shame The pain, the shame It should be mine As He is accused As He is condemned Oh, the King condemned... When the fault is mine! Behold the King As they shred His flesh That was once dust But given life by Him Behold as He carries our sin Through the town And up the hill Behold the King Oh, behold His love He loves the hands that kill him Hands so like my own Every sin Every lie Every fault Every weakness Every temptation Every infirmity Every illness Behold them The scars of the King Behold the King As He leaves the world It is finished All the pain, the evil, the death It is finished The Royal Decree Behold the King King Jesus! Oh, behold His glory! As He steps into the room His friends, who turned away Now fall at His feet Ready to serve the King And now, because the King Chose to suffer and die We too, someday Will have the honor, the joy Of ascending on high Finally able to behold our King.. Oh, make me Thine forever And should I fainting be Lord, let me never ever Outlive my love for Thee |
