on the move and unafraid
placing her belief concentrically
over her heart she keeps her faith
with her

the enemy watched and struck
with practiced timing and even better
aim

pierced to her innermost
she cannot hide her
bleeding

her questions have a journey
but they have no destination

if it weren’t for this daily need
to go back and forth
her wails would simply be

stationary
