Will This be The Year?

Thanks Lord for granting us this fine new year;
Another chance to make a better place,
Where none of Your loved chidren need to fear,
No matter where they live or what their race.

You gave us all the tools we needed when
You sent Your Son with His message of love.
As You loved us, just so should we love men
And ask for them full blessings from above.

You showed us how to make a friend from foe
Your sweet Son chose to turn the other cheek.
We may be mighty, have great strength to show,
But You have said Your earth is for the meek.

May hearts be filled with love as all wars cease
And this poor travailed world be filled with peace.
