The First Christmas Gift My cards are sent, the gifts are wrapped It's time to sit a spell And think of the real reason why I've raced around pell-mell. Baking rich pies and making fudge, Ging to parties too. Is this the way that we should be Showing our love for You? I think You wouldn't mark it wrong, Our love for one another; The giving gifts in your sweet Name To friend, to child, to brother. For this one night, dear Lord, we pray The world will be cementd With generosity and love, And not with hate demented. So we wrap gifts and give them to The ones whom we hold dear, In gratitude for Your own Son In that first Christmas year.
