As an Illumination When I step into Your light and you bathe me with its luster, May I not be as a shortened wick, easily snuffed out, easily doused, weak in my sharing of the awesome glow of Your love, Your power, Your truth, Rather, May I be buoyed up, through Christ, Your Son. He Who was given as a sacrifice an advocate a substitute in my stead in the stead of mankind. ©November 30, 2003 November 30, 2003 Sermon Title: Be Alert Dr. Paul Pryor Scripture ref: Luke 21:25-36 As the Spring Rains As sure as the spring rains, comes the fruit of the harvest. Likewise is the certainty of the Kingdom of God and its coming nigh. Be on guard alert ready, eyes open that you may see; that you may hear, open your ears; with lips at the ready, give praise to His Holy Name. Stay awake, that by the power of Christ, you will have the ability to stand in His presence ripe to the harvest. ©November 30, 2003 the first Sunday of Advent Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Great Idea - I am so moved by sermons sometimes - never thought about using them as inspiration for poems. I loved them both but was partial to the first. Good stuff - thanks Tim He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. Proverbs 28:26 |

(big hugggsssssss) As always I enjoy your sermon-inspired poems, dearest friend, I believe the words are meant to sing deep in your soul and what better way to re-convey the pure words of wisdom than through poetry and music? (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, and I wish you and your loved ones the happiest holiday season, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

I liked this idea...I haven't thought about doing that during a sermon, but now I might have to steal your idea Good work. |
